Sargent Avenue

I started walking to work about 2 months ago. One day I was passing this mural on Sargent Ave and Home St. Some person had vandalized the picture with paint (here). I thought it was a shame, since it is such a beautiful, carefree painting. I then decided I wanted to bring a camera on my walks to photo document my journey.

I also have the worst memory in the world so I also wanted to document my journey so I would remember it!!

Beautiful Day for a walk (Sargent Ave at Wall St). Near the West End Library (Cindy Klassen Recreational Complex).

These are the soldiers who quietly guard Valour Rd.

The West end is known for its murals. . . . and there was no shortage along Sargent Ave. These were some of my favorites. . . . Ok the so the last one is not a favorite but you may also notice the hooker in the picture. She was working before 8:30 am!!

Found outside the Knox Church (Qu'appelle Ave at Edmonton St)

Found this bike near Qu'appelle Ave and (I believe) Carlton St.

There were two notable stories I did not get in photo form. I was a man on a scooter with his glasses half way down his face, and swerving. I realized he was trying to answer his phone. Slightly ridiculous.

The next as I was taking photos of the Jack Layton memorial, I saw a woman in my peripheral vision. I moved back and glanced over, she was in a mobility scooter. I looked again and saw her holding a Second Cup cup, while steering with her wrist, and had a small child on the floor of the cart between her legs. I really wanted that picture, but I did not get. :(
